Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dad's Doodles by Garth Weiser was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,905.83). Admittedly, works by Garth Weiser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 47,299.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dad's Doodles von Garth Weiser im April 2019 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.905,83) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Garth Weiser auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 47.299,29).
