Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pierrot by Georges Rouault was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2007. It changed hands for a price of GBP 144,000.00 (€ 213,688.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 120,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Rouault - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fleurs décoratives, which sold at auction in May 2001 for USD 644,000.00 (€ 761,679.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pierrot von Georges Rouault kam im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 144.000,00 (€ 213.688,76) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Rouault mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fleurs décoratives beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für USD 644.000,00 (€ 761.679,48) versteigert wurde.
