Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale, which included the work Femme au jardin by Henri Lebasque. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,180.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Lebasque achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le goûter sur la terrasse à Sainte-Maxime in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,022,500.00 (€ 711,254.87).
