In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE FREYCINET COLLECTION, which included the work Coupang; Ile Timor. Costumes by J. Alphonse Pellion. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,541.00 (€ 7,216.69), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by J. Alphonse Pellion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 74,090.00 (€ 117,746.03).

Im September 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coupang; Ile Timor. Costumes von J. Alphonse Pellion zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.541,00 (€ 7.216,69) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von J. Alphonse Pellion erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Une vue du Port de Sidney prise de l'observatoire (croquis d'après nature) le 13 Dec 1819 im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.090,00 (€ 117.746,03).
