In June last year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled (Early Bird) by Joel Mesler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 201,600.00 (€ 234,201.85), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joel Mesler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work To Life, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 907,200.00 (€ 845,401.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Early Bird) von Joel Mesler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 201.600,00 (€ 234.201,85) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Joel Mesler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit To Life beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 907.200,00 (€ 845.401,17) versteigert wurde.
