Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mannish Boy by Josh Sperling was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in association with Yongle auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 75,050.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Josh Sperling have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2020 the work Team Player was auctioned for USD 118,750.00 (€ 107,001.26).

Die Arbeit Mannish Boy von Josh Sperling wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in association with Yongle bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 604.800,00 (€ 75.050,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
