In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Five O'Clock Tea by Julius LeBlanc Stewart. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,880,000.00 (€ 1,686,249.89), 25% above the upper estimate. With this result, Five O'Clock Tea is even the most expensive work of art by Julius LeBlanc Stewart that we have observed at auctions so far.
