Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Twilight On The Terrace, Paris by Julius LeBlanc Stewart was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 118,750.00 (€ 107,049.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius LeBlanc Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Five O'Clock Tea in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,880,000.00 (€ 1,686,249.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Twilight On The Terrace, Paris von Julius LeBlanc Stewart im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 118.750,00 (€ 107.049,49) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julius LeBlanc Stewart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Five O'Clock Tea im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.880.000,00 (€ 1.686.249,89).
