Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julius LeBlanc Stewart could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work The First Spring changed hands for USD 87,500.00 (€ 78,482.38) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius LeBlanc Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Five O'Clock Tea in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,880,000.00 (€ 1,686,249.89).
