Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Gotta Eat by Kaws. The price achieved of GBP 615,000.00 (€ 712,786.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gotta Eat von Kaws zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 615.000,00 (€ 712.786,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
