It achieved a price of USD 444,500.00 (€ 373,592.20), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 48%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kurt Schwitters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ja - Was? - Bild in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 13,970,500.00 (€ 17,455,471.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Ohne titel (ORLD'S RAREST AND MOTHS) von Kurt Schwitters kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 444.500,00 (€ 373.592,20) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 48%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kurt Schwitters erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ja - Was? - Bild im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.970.500,00 (€ 17.455.471,33).
