Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2015 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist/Modern & Picasso Ceramics, which included the work Ostend, Bateaux au port by Léon de Smet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,341.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon de Smet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roze Harmonie in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 668,742.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist/Modern & Picasso Ceramics durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ostend, Bateaux au port von Léon de Smet zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.341,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Léon de Smet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roze Harmonie im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 485.000,00 (€ 668.742,97).
