Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Personajes De Teatro (Theatre People) by Leonora Carrington was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2012. It changed hands for a price of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 417,595.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonora Carrington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Personajes De Teatro (Theatre People) von Leonora Carrington kam im Juni 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 417.595,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
