Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alkoholfolter (Capitain & Grässlin 19) by Martin Kippenberger was auctioned at Sothebys in Cologne in June last year. The price achieved of EUR 2,520.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Kippenberger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 16,405,000.00 (€ 14,921,775.51).
