Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New Brighton (Boy and girl eating ice-cream) by Martin Parr was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,088.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Parr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Resort, 1983-86 in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,639.23).

Die Arbeit New Brighton (Boy and girl eating ice-cream) von Martin Parr kam im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.088,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Parr erzielen.
