Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Masao Yamamoto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April 2013. In the Important Photographs from the Collection of Dr. Anthony Terrana auction, the work Selected Images from a Box of Ku and Nakazora sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,239.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Masao Yamamoto; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nakazora sold at auction in April 2017 with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,651.68).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Masao Yamamoto erzielte im April 2013 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Photographs from the Collection of Dr. Anthony Terrana wurde die Arbeit Selected Images from a Box of Ku and Nakazora für USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.239,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Masao Yamamoto; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Nakazora im April 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.651,68).
