Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Deer Boy by Mayuka Yamamoto was worth HKD 138,600.00 (€ 15,258.06) to a buyer in September 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mayuka Yamamoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Little Penguin Boy in April this year with an auction result of HKD 576,000.00 (€ 588,208.70).

Die Arbeit Deer Boy von Mayuka Yamamoto war einem Käufer im September 2020 HKD 138.600,00 (€ 15.258,06) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mayuka Yamamoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Little Penguin Boy im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 576.000,00 (€ 588.208,70).
