Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Hamlet And Ophelia At Elsinore by Patrick Hayman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,896.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Hayman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fisherman, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,527.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hamlet And Ophelia At Elsinore von Patrick Hayman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.896,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Hayman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Fisherman beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.527,45) versteigert wurde.
