Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2018 Christies in Paris held the auction Post-war and contemporary art - vente du jour, which included the work Palais de Tokyo by Philippe Cognée. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 17,500.00 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philippe Cognée - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vanité No. 6, which sold at auction in October 2021 for EUR 37,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Post-war and contemporary art - vente du jour durch, in der auch die Arbeit Palais de Tokyo von Philippe Cognée zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 17.500,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Philippe Cognée mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vanité No. 6 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für EUR 37.500,00 versteigert wurde.
