This artwork by Richard Serra achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2006. In the Post War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Finkl-Forge sold for USD 374,400.00 (€ 282,331.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Serra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L.A. Cone in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 4,267,750.00 (€ 3,285,917.77).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard Serra erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Finkl-Forge für USD 374.400,00 (€ 282.331,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Serra erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L.A. Cone im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.267.750,00 (€ 3.285.917,77).
