Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Michael III by Robert Motherwell was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The price achieved of USD 4,160.00 (€ 3,930.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Motherwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At Five in the Afternoon in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 12,690,000.00 (€ 10,874,035.99).

Die Arbeit Saint Michael III von Robert Motherwell kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.160,00 (€ 3.930,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Motherwell erzielen.
