Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Nov 2013 Contemporary Evening, which included the work Puzzled Portrait by Roy Lichtenstein. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,285,000.00 (€ 6,089,225.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
