Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2009 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Il Mattino by Salvo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 80,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 84,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Salvo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Mattino (The Morning) in November this year with an auction result of HKD 8,694,000.00 (€ 1,020,198.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Il Mattino von Salvo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 84.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Salvo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Mattino (The Morning) im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.694.000,00 (€ 1.020.198,02).
