Despite a disappointment, a good price for Sam Taylor-Johnson
When the work After Van Halen by Sam Taylor-Johnson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 88,000.00 (€ 57,944.29). Despite this disappointing result, After Van Halen is the most expensive artwork by Sam Taylor-Johnson that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit After Van Halen von Sam Taylor-Johnson im Februar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 88.000,00 (€ 57.944,29) den Besitzer.
