Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sol LeWitt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2017. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Floating Cube sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 28,203.53) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sol LeWitt erzielte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Floating Cube für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 28.203,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
