Auction result well in line with expectations
The work From the midpoint of the left side to a point halfway toward the midpoint of the bottom side by Sol LeWitt was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,985.00 (€ 8,149.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit From the midpoint of the left side to a point halfway toward the midpoint of the bottom side von Sol LeWitt wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.985,00 (€ 8.149,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
