Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Wall Drawing #1158 e by Sol LeWitt was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2017. Here, the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 212,500.00 (€ 178,601.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sol LeWitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wavy Brushstrokes, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Wall Drawing #1158 e von Sol LeWitt kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 212.500,00 (€ 178.601,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19) versteigert wurde.
