Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Stanley Whitney was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,180.00 (€ 50,377.97), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Whitney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Radical Openness in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,228,000.00 (€ 2,076,227.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Stanley Whitney wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 43.180,00 (€ 50.377,97) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Whitney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Radical Openness im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.228.000,00 (€ 2.076.227,75).
