Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist, Modern & Post War Art, which included the work Le pont de la Concorde by Willy James. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,820.00 (€ 4,553.10) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willy James - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Étang Gelé Aux Patineurs, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,342.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist, Modern & Post War Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le pont de la Concorde von Willy James zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.820,00 (€ 4.553,10) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willy James mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L'Étang Gelé Aux Patineurs beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.342,16) versteigert wurde.
