Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Nets Blue by Yayoi Kusama for USD 2,450,000 (€ 2,141,234). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500,000 – 3,500,000 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Yayoi Kusama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Nets) in May this year with an auction result of USD 10,496,000 (€ 9,781,008).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Nets Blue von Yayoi Kusama für USD 2.450.000 (€ 2.141.234) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500.000 – 3.500.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Nets) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.496.000 (€ 9.781.008).
