Sotheby's hosts Contemporary Photographs auction for the fifth time
Starting September 28, 2021 at 2 p.m. local time, the fifth edition of Contemporary Photographs will be held in New York City. The auction will take place online, and bids can be submitted until October 05.

Sotheby's gathers for this auction great photographers who have marked the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. From Yves Klein, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Cindy Sherman and Nan Goldin to younger representatives such as Wolfgang Tillmans and Matthew Brandt, a vast and interesting spectrum of photography will be presented. Works by artists Carrie Mae Weems, Sophie Calle and Yayoi Kusama, who was recently honored with a retrospective at the Gropius Bau in Berlin, will also be on sale.
From September 30 to October 04, all works will be on view in an exhibition from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time each day. On Sunday, October 03, it will be held from 1 to 5 pm. In parallel, on September 30 in New York, the live auction Contemporary Curated, also organized by Sotheby's, will take place.

Waldmüller’s Progressive Landscape Paintings
Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller is often associated with the Biedermeier period, yet his paintings—especially his landscapes, which he created outdoors from life—tell a different story. For the first time, an exhibition of the painter’s work is coming to the United Kingdom: Waldmüller: Landscapes opens on July 2 at the National Gallery in London.
