Upper estimate price exceeded by 35%
The work Diego (Tête sur socle cubique) by Alberto Giacometti was sold in the Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II auction at Christies in New York in November this year. It achieved a price of USD 1,620,000 (€ 1,415,836), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alberto Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'homme au doigt in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 141,285,000 (€ 128,511,006).
