It achieved a price of USD 1,620,000.00 (€ 1,569,311.25), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alberto Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'homme au doigt in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 141,285,000.00 (€ 128,511,006.00).

Die Arbeit Diego (Tête sur socle cubique) von Alberto Giacometti wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.620.000,00 (€ 1.569.311,25) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alberto Giacometti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'homme au doigt im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.285.000,00 (€ 128.511.006,00).
