Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doug by Alex Katz was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 16,510.00 (€ 14,981.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Katz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Umbrella I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,375,000.00 (€ 3,914,757.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Doug von Alex Katz kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 16.510,00 (€ 14.981,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alex Katz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Umbrella I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.375.000,00 (€ 3.914.757,96).
