Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Amoako Boafo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March last year. In the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction, the work Yellow Blanket sold for GBP 1,242,000.00 (€ 1,472,530.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amoako Boafo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hands Up, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 26,650,000.00 (€ 3,018,669.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amoako Boafo erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Yellow Blanket für GBP 1.242.000,00 (€ 1.472.530,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hands Up beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 26.650.000,00 (€ 3.018.669,38) versteigert wurde.
