Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Cocoon II by Andreas Gursky. The price achieved of GBP 428,750.00 (€ 488,155.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andreas Gursky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cocoon II von Andreas Gursky zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 428.750,00 (€ 488.155,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96).
