In November this year Christies in London held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Flowers by Andy Warhol. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,438,000.00 (€ 3,151,815.18), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.438.000,00 (€ 3.151.815,18) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
