Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session), which included the work Self-Portrait With Fright Wig by Andy Warhol. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,705.00 (€ 17,124.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Afternoon Session) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait With Fright Wig von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.705,00 (€ 17.124,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
