Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sixteen Jackies by Andy Warhol was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000,000.00 – 35,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,940,000.00 (€ 23,780,711.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Andy Warhol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sixteen Jackies von Andy Warhol wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000.000,00 – 35.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.940.000,00 (€ 23.780.711,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andy Warhol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
