Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Antoni Tàpies achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in December 2021. In the Post War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Matèria i roig sold for EUR 375,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antoni Tàpies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gran ocra amb incisions (Large Ochre with Incisions) in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 2,081,799.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antoni Tàpies erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Matèria i roig für EUR 375.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antoni Tàpies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gran ocra amb incisions (Large Ochre with Incisions) im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.650.500,00 (€ 2.081.799,44).
