Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sfera by Arnaldo Pomodoro was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 315,000.00 (€ 366,971.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arnaldo Pomodoro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Giroscopio IV, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 674,500.00 (€ 943,457.03).
