Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Sona and Chandi on Rail (1930-40s) by Carlotta Corpron for USD 164.50 (€ 180.99). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 900.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlotta Corpron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Light, White Paper and Glass; Eggs Encircled; Untitled from the series Light Follows Form; and Illusion of Male and Female from the series Light Follows Form (1946) in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,171.09).
