Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Beside The Light (Maquette) by Christopher Wilmarth for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,892.00). This price was achieved in the auction Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Wilmarth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Beside The Light (Maquette) von Christopher Wilmarth für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.892,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Wilmarth erzielen.
