Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in London held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Track and Hedgerow, January by David Hockney. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,342,000.00 (€ 5,814,081.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,500,000.00 – 6,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Hockney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Track and Hedgerow, January von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.342.000,00 (€ 5.814.081,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.500.000,00 – 6.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Hockney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
