This artwork by Eric Fischl achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November last year. In the Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II auction, the work Bedroom Scene #6 (Surviving the Fall Meant Using You for Handholds) sold for USD 819,000.00 (€ 793,374.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eric Fischl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Old Man's Boat and the Old Man's Dog in May last year with an auction result of USD 4,140,000.00 (€ 3,857,981.55).
