Conceived circa 1907 and cast in bronze by the H Noack Foundry, Berlin at a later date, probably in the 1960s.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Russische Bettlerin Ii (Russian Beggar Woman Ii) by Ernst Barlach. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,730.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernst Barlach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weinende Frau in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 938,500.00 (€ 759,058.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Russische Bettlerin Ii (Russian Beggar Woman Ii) von Ernst Barlach zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.730,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernst Barlach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weinende Frau im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 938.500,00 (€ 759.058,56).
