Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Wwrl by Frank Stella. The price achieved of USD 4,575,000.00 (€ 4,103,507.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Stella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wwrl von Frank Stella zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.575.000,00 (€ 4.103.507,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Stella auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Point Of Pines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.082.500,00 (€ 25.188.357,70).
