Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blackboard Drawing (#2) by Gabriel Orozco was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in June 2021. The price achieved of USD 31,500.00 (€ 26,586.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriel Orozco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dandelion in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 795,000.00 (€ 681,233.93).

Die Arbeit Blackboard Drawing (#2) von Gabriel Orozco wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.500,00 (€ 26.586,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Orozco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dandelion im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 795.000,00 (€ 681.233,93).
