In February 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work La Musa Inquietante (The Disquieting Muse) by Giorgio de Chirico. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 50,000.00 (€ 64,068.83), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Musa Inquietante (The Disquieting Muse) von Giorgio de Chirico zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 64.068,83) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
