Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gordon Cook could be acquired at Christies in Los Angeles in December 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART auction, the work Sculpture, Hat Form and Cap on Circus Stand changed hands for USD 2,820.00 (€ 3,003.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by Gordon Cook have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September this year by the work Delta Levee-Night, 1982 at USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,628.12).
