Auction result well in line with expectations
The work W. ALL BE. FOR. (A W-Hole House: Datum Cut) by Gordon Matta-Clark was sold in the Art Contemporain Vente du Jour auction at Christies in Paris in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 60,000.00 – 8,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 114,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Gordon Matta-Clark have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2016 the work Pier 52 ( # 4) was auctioned for GBP 131,000.00 (€ 145,937.97).
